Himbleton Cricket Match, 13th September 2009

A very successful day was enjoyed on bank holiday Monday for the first Emily Jordan Foundation charity cricket match at Himbleton. An excited 100 strong crowd were enthralled by such a high standard of competitive cricket between an EJF XI versus Himbleton First XI. There were some outstanding performances by the EJF team not least Pete Taylor’s 6 over’s for only 19 runs, Stuart Doolittle’s powerful batting and for being sponsored for every run he scored. George Walkers youthful fielding, of course Anthony Kent’s spectacular catch and generally supported by competent regular Himbleton players.
The day was completed by terrific support from club members who provided a lovely tea, pig roast, raffle prizes, disco and of course a bar!!

In a dramatic finish Himbleton XI just scored those few more runs to take the honours – the real winner however was the Foundation with £1100.85 raised on the day. Thank you to everyone involved and we look forward to the match next year.
